reflections of the year so far....

The year is almost over, I can't believe how the time has flown by. I feel so unaccomplished for the year. Sure I've taken a few good pictures but I feel as though I have fell short when it came to really great ones. I'm hoping it will turn around in the next couple of weeks or so, or we will just have to call 2009 a wash. I'm hoping 2010 brings great things my way, I'm hoping my photography starts to really take off & I'm not feeling like I am begging people to "let me take their pix". It's very frustrating because I know what I am capable of. But since the average person can not see into my mind or take the time to look at my work they will never know. So I keep pimping my work if you will, and keep pimping it. But this year I've had portions where I just had no creativity, no nothing really, felt about as hollow as an old wooden barrel. I've had no muse to inspire me this year. I've been through a lot of shit too, thinking when I come out on the other side I'll be stronger I'll be a better person, a greater artist/writer/photographer. But that hasn't happened I've felt just as empty as before, I guess this is where an artist suffers for their work. Well damn it I don't want to suffer no more. I feel as though some of my creative juices are coming back. I took lots of pictures over the weekend but I am not happy with most of them. But it was good to just be out and about taking pictures, just seeing beauty in nature, seeing beauty where the average person would not find any. Finding beauty in all abandon spots, and hidden groves. It was an amazing experience, I felt reborn for a minute. Then when I finally looked at my pictures from the weekend, I was disappointed, they didn't turn out the way I seen them in my head while I was taking them. I know a good artist/photographer does not blame their equipment and I shall not do that. Instead the very next chance I get to walk about the beauty of the outdoors I'll be doing again and hopefully capture in photos what I see.
I'm going to stop at this point I do have other reflections of this past year to come but for tonight this is good.
